Flanked by a string of romantic hills once topped with Iron Age forts, Marshwood Vale is a truly breathtaking landscape full of historical interest that time has done very little to alter. Our journey takes us along winding country lanes and there will be tales of ancient tribes, pilgrims’ journeys and the real events that shaped Shakespeare’s Tempest. There may also be an opportunity to make the short walk up Pilsden Pen, one of the highest points in Dorset with a truly breathtaking view over the whole Vale all the way to the sea.
